Come to a meeting.

Face-to-face, every Thursday and Sunday in Baguio City. Free, anonymous, and open to anyone with a desire to stop gambling.

Your first meeting

Nothing to prepare. Just come.

  1. 01

    No fees, no sign-up

The only requirement for GA membership is a desire to stop gambling. Nobody signs you up for anything.

  2. 02

    First names only

Nobody asks for your surname or your story. What is shared in the meeting stays there.

  3. 03

    Listen, or share

Members share their experience, strength and hope. Sharing or listening is your choice.

  4. 04

    Support beyond the meeting

Many members find a sponsor through their home group. Ask after the meeting.

How a meeting goes

One hour, the same way every week.

A member chairs each meeting from a short script. Volunteers read from printed cards. You can read, or pass. Nobody is put on the spot.

  1. 01

    Welcome

The chair opens the meeting, and we take a moment of silence for the still suffering gambling addicts in and out of the room.

  2. 02

    Serenity Prayer

Said together, from memory. Join in if you care to.

  3. 03

    Welcome newcomers

The newcomer is the most important person in any meeting. If it is your first time, you are asked to introduce yourself, only to get to know you better.

  4. 04

    Milestones

We celebrate members’ time away from gambling.

  5. 05

    Readings

Volunteers read the GA Preamble, the Recovery Program, the Unity Program, The Dream World and Page 17.

  6. 06

    Introductions

First names only, around the circle.

  7. 07

    A Day at a Time

A volunteer reads the reflection for the day.

  8. 08

    Sharing

One at a time, no cross talk, about five minutes each. Listening is fine.

  9. 09

    7th Tradition

No dues or fees. Members who can, put in a voluntary contribution.

  10. 10

    Announcements

News from the group and from GA Pilipinas.

  11. 11

    Anonymity Statement

Who you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here.

  12. 12

    The Promises & Serenity Prayer

We close with The Promises, then the Serenity Prayer together.
